Happy Monday 🌞 Next week, like many in the US, we’ll be doing lots of driving. We’re driving ~12 hours from Tennessee to Maryland to be with my husband’s family for Thanksgiving. If this sounds like a lot of time in the car, it’s because it is. We’re road-trip people, though; we’ve been road-tripping with our two dogs and now our daughter for years. In the summer, we drove from Tennessee to New York, which was another 12-hour trip that we did on a Friday and then all over again on Monday. I love these drives. I’m not the driver, but I’m in charge of packing, snacks, pets, and entertainment for our 2.5-year-old. Lucky for me, she’s great in the car. This leaves me with plenty of time to myself. I can’t really read or watch anything as I get too car sick, but I love to use the time to sneak in a little bit of life admin and feel a smidge more on top of things by the time we arrive. Life admin is a timely topic for me, I recently read a whole book on the subject: Life Admin: How I Learned to Do Less, Do Better, and Live More by Elizabeth Emens. If this topic is of interest, I definitely recommend the book. Elizabeth Emens makes Life Admin feel less daunting and provides tons of advice. You can also listen to the podcast episode where I chat about this book with my MakeWorkWork co-host, Habbi: → MWW 45: Tiny Little Frustrations I have a long list of life admin tasks I do in the car, on flights, or in airports. Here’s my own list plus suggestions from folks who replied with their own life admin tasks when I shared mine: Optimize your phone

This newsletter highlights the systems I create for my work (as a Marketing leader at Buffer) and in my life (as a remote worker and mom of two) so I can stay productive, calm, and organized.
HAILLEY GRIFFIS Happy Monday 🌞 In my last newsletter, I talked about starting a page for next year. Today, I want to walk you through something that makes that future planning so much more powerful: end-of-year reflection. Even though we’re not quite at the end of the year yet, this is actually the perfect time to bookmark this exercise. Things tend to slow down in December, and you can tackle this reflection in multiple sittings whenever you have space. Personally, I love doing this between...
HAILLEY GRIFFIS Happy Monday 🌞 Sometimes it feels like all I need is a good list to help me achieve anything I want — most of my goals start out as a list, and there’s something magical about writing them down and then bringing them to life. Well this week I’m starting to work on a new list for 2026. If you joined recently, hi 👋 I’m Hailley. I’ve always created systems for my work (as a Marketing leader at Buffer) and life (as a remote worker and mom of two) where I can stay productive, calm,...
HAILLEY GRIFFIS Happy Monday 🌞 I’m so glad to be back in your inbox. The last few weeks I have been in a Minimum season — where I had less energy but my usual amounts of time, and it was helpful to experience this season of capacity with more awareness instead of just feeling frustrated about being tired. Minimum season is one of the names of the Seasons of Capacity framework I shared a few months ago, you can read about it here, but the quick overview is that it helps you see where your...
