Happy Monday 🌞 Last week was a fun milestone for me — I had my 8th anniversary of working at Buffer. (We call them Bufferversaries. 😊) That’s truly a long time with one company, so I spent some extra time reflecting ahead of this milestone on a question I get a lot “why have you stayed at Buffer so long?” It turns out, there are a lot of reasons. I get into all of them in this post on the Buffer blog and I’d love your thoughts if you read it. One of the reasons I stay is because I keep being challenged and growing. Part of that is that I set career goals every year and they are largely based on the notes I take during performance review season. Performance reviews are something I hadn’t done formally until I joined Buffer and they’re actually a really helpful check-in. The only problem is they can also take up a ton of time, especially if you are writing performance reviews for others, too. So this week I’m sharing my super simple system for making performance reviews more efficient. Read about it here: → How to Make Performance Reviews More Manageable: The Accomplishments List I hope you have a lovely week ahead. As always, feel free to reply if this sparks any thoughts or questions. See you next week, Hailley

This newsletter highlights the systems I create for my work (as a Marketing leader at Buffer) and in my life (as a remote worker and mom of two) so I can stay productive, calm, and organized.
HAILLEY GRIFFIS Happy Monday 🌞 Ten years ago, my email was added to Buffer’s website when I joined the team. My personal email has been around for about 20 years. You can imagine it’s not hard to find — and it’s probably been sold more times than I’d like to think about. With all of that, there’s almost always something in my inbox. If you joined recently, hi 👋 I’m Hailley. I’ve always created systems for my work (as a Marketing leader at Buffer) and for my life (as a remote worker and mom of...
HAILLEY GRIFFIS Happy Monday 🌞 I’m in the middle of hiring season at work right now — something that doesn’t happen often but always absorbs more time and energy than I expect. Between reviewing candidates, scheduling interviews, and keeping my other projects moving, hiring reminds me why one system in particular has become non-negotiable for me: weekly planning. If you joined recently, hi 👋 I’m Hailley. I’ve always created systems for my work (as a Marketing leader at Buffer) and life (as a...
HAILLEY GRIFFIS Happy Monday 🌞 One of my goals this year is to have more 100% days. That's what I call a day when I've hit all five of my daily habits. I love these days because I usually feel like I'm operating at my best and showing up as my best self — more energized, more present with my kids, more focused at work. The thing is, I can't just hope my habits will stick. I need something that keeps me motivated and accountable. For me, that's tracking them. And that's exactly what I started...
